Only superlatives to describe this peaceful, authentic delicious place in a heavenly setting...beech forrest. Delicious, simple food of the most excellent quality. I will come back here....from thousands of miles away! Loved it. View all feedback.
We had first, second and dessert courses. The ravioli with sage and butter sauce was tasteless and were watery inside. You couldn't even see the sage on the dish and the pasta had a strange brownish color. My companion had the pasta alla chitarra with red sauce and the sauce was just like ketchup--so thick--and the pasta was hardly shaped like chitarra. The second course was lamb. That was alright, but the side dishes were very skimpy. Very little salad. The panna cotta with caramel for dessert had caramel that tasted like butterscotch. To top off the horrible lunch, the only bathroom door did not lock or even close! By the time to write a sign that the door handle did not lock, it would have been faster to call a locksmith or fix it! I wonder how long that bathroom door was like that. It was a bad experience and will never return.

This modest little restaurant is hidden in the middle of a stunning beech forest by a mountain stream and a small lake on one of the high valleys of the Majella mountains. For a magical and peaceful setting it is worth searching it out. The food is simple authentic Abruzzese style but good! We have been here 3 times over the last year and each time we have left happy, relaxed, and well fed!
Friendly staff and genuine local food, recommended!
Lovely place surrounded by the woods of the maiella! we ate very well, very kind owners!
