A wonderfully welcoming family-run business! The food is always plentiful and delicious. Unfortunately, the decor is completely outdated.
We were passing through on our way to Hamburg and had made a reservation. Despite the delay, they kept a table free for us. The service was fantastic and warm. The team was extremely friendly. Special requests were no problem. The food was delicious, and the menu had something for everyone. We also got a 3-ounce glass of ouzo on the house. What more could you want?
We were there for the first time today and were overwhelmingly impressed! Reservation: Since we wanted to go on a Saturday evening and had a correspondingly long commute, a reservation was a given for us. The online reservation was easy and confirmed promptly. We even received a reminder of the reservation via email. We received a friendly welcome at the restaurant and were shown directly to our table inside, after being offered the option of dining outside. Ambience: The decor is rather simple and functional. Not overly decorative and clean. Perhaps a few small spots here and there are a bit dated. The terrace is modern and, despite its proximity to the main road, would certainly be a good alternative in better weather. Service: Always friendly and attentive, without being intrusive. Drinks and food were brought quickly, but without any rush. There doesn't seem to be a set table assignment, as we had to deal with a total of four servers. Food: The saganaki was excellent. Creamy, hot, and coated in a thin, golden breadcrumb coating. The meat was tender and juicy, the salad fresh, and the tzatziki was perfect. Prices/Payment: The prices were reasonable. It's certainly possible to go cheap, but for what was offered (both quality and quantity), the prices were more than reasonable. The only disappointment was the payment. We were prepared to pay with Amex, as the restaurant explicitly advertised this card as an accepted payment method on its website, along with many other methods. However, the friendly waitress then said that they probably wouldn't accept Amex after all. Luckily, we had a debit card with us. We didn't ask whether other credit cards were accepted. Completely incomprehensible, however, was the statement that tips paid by card would NOT be paid to the staff. This is the first time I've heard that. In all other restaurants, it's perfectly possible to tip by card, and the tips are paid to the staff. Since we didn't have any cash, we still paid the tip by card, politely requesting that the waitress please request the money from her supervisor, as she was entitled to it. All in all, we would actually give it 5 out of 5 stars, but we're deducting one star due to the inconsistencies with the payment process.
