Say what you want about this place, but the sushi and prices are good imo. I usually call in and go when they say it?ll be ready, and I?ve never ran into problems. Lately, the owner and staff have looked tired and fed up, and having worked at arestaurant, i get it. I overheard them talking about how little tips they get. You can feel how you want about tipping culture, but that?s a nationwide cultural thing the staff aren?t to blame. With that being said, wait times can be a little long. Butthe sushi?s good, and I?ll be back.
This isn?t a traditional sushi restaurant. The food is fresh and well prepared though. They lose points for assuming I wanted a large bottle of beer instead of asking if I wanted a small or large bottle and for taking my payment and assuming I didn't wantchange. The rice on my spicy tuna roll was not sushi rice and it had no flavor whatsoever. And, the men's toilet floor wasdisgustingly sticky.
Update: I got food poisoning from this place. I ordered their Teriyaki beef plate to go. The meat was the most horrible thing I have ever tasted. It was almost like beef jerky in taste and texture, God knows how old it was. The friend vegetables alsodidn't seem fresh. The only thing that was descent was the rice and 2 pieces of a California Roll. I would say beware of thebeef or chicken because you will get some really old stuff that has been sitting around, not fresh at all. If you do end upeating there go for the sushi/rolls but even that makes me think about their fish, how fresh is it. I think one of the majorproblems with take out is that they give you the oldest stuff because you won't be around to complain.
Service is hit or miss. Been there multiple times and have had great service and been there the last few times and had terrible service. Most recent visit Waitress never brought my daughters drink until we already had all our food and almost finishedeating never once asked if we needed anything until we said something. Blamed my daughters missed drink on the kitchen. Neverasked for refills. While other servers were approaching us asking if we needed anything. Thelast visit before the same Waitressmessed up my order so i never ate just watched my family eat because it would of took another 20 minutes for my roll. Like isaid service is hit or miss. Lately been a miss. The manager on duty did refund my daughters drink and apologized.
I waited for almost 10 minutes after I was seated for a server to come. She seemed irritated and never smiled. I said thank you after she brought me my drink and she ignored me. I can understand being short staffed and overworked but that's no excusefor lousy service. Then they wouldn't bring me a bottle of soy sauce because I was sitting outside even though I saw bottles ofsoy sauce on the inside tables. The place WAS busy and the food tasted good so I guess the food makes up for lousy service. Idon't understand how the place is managed.
