It was quite busy when we arrived, with every table occupied, but thankfully there was no wait for a seat. I came here based on a friend's recommendation. I ordered the chorizo and eggs, while my wife opted for the ham and cheese omelet with Swiss cheese. The chorizo and eggs were tasty, though not overly spicy, and I enjoyed every bite. I also sampled the omelet, and it was delicious as well. The coffee was nice—not too strong, but just enough to give me a boost. I particularly liked the potatoes that accompanied the chorizo; they were cooked perfectly. I will definitely be back at some point to check out their lunch menu!

Their breakfast potatoes are absolutely some of the best around—definitely not frozen or from a plastic bag. Be sure to try them in their breakfast burritos! The waitstaff is also very attentive. My coffee mug was always filled, and they brought everything we needed promptly.

Basic Coffee Shop f... read more I could be wrong, but someone told me this place has been there since the 40s. Either way it's a Classic Cool place in Oxnard near Downtown. Basic Coffee Shop food add very reasonable prices. They also have Vegetarian Options. Myself I had the chicken fried steak with fresh fruit and the biggest portion of french fries I've ever seen. It was well up to standard. They also have a big parking lot.
