You get here and immediately think you have made a mistake when you arrive at a small unassuming village bar with a gap-toothed local supping cider outside, then the door opens and you are warmly welcomed and beckoned inside by the lovely owner Teresa. Inside you are led through the small kitchen of bubbling pots to the elegant, eclectic dining room the other side, and there is also a little outside area. Everything here has been selected with care and taste, from the antique wine coolers to the wine itself. For us this restaurant really has it all, great ambiance, gorgeous food, well picked wine, lovely staff and is fantastic value, infact we loved this place so much we ate here twice in the space of a long weekend. The stand out dishes for us were the leek terrine with pepper sauce (pastel de Puerros), the scallops in their shell starter (zamburinas), the goat (cabritu) and the stuffed onions (cebollas rellanas). The desserts are amazing too and all home-made, we had a fantastically gooey nut cake and a berry fruit cheesecake. We couldn’t disagree more with the previous report, we would definitely try and factor in a meal or 2 at this restaurant any time we find ourselves in this region. Teresa and Maria and another lady whose name we didn’t catch clearly know what they are doing, the goat dish for example had several different cuts of goat which all would have taken different times to cook but all were cooked to perfection. We love this restaurant and can’t wait to go back, it’s a real hidden gem and very close to the mining museum if you are visiting there.

This restaurant was evaluated fourth in Oviedo at the time of visiting and this is what led us to this place. When we arrived we could not find the restaurant. It just looked like a miner's bar. We went in and it was just a really average bar. We nearly turned around. However we were then led to the bac, through the kitchen, which was the restaurant. It was all very rustic. Clean white linen table cloths and serviettes. The food is very rustic too and with good incredients. I did not really feel it was worth the long journey out of Oviedo but we were led by the reviews which were mostly five stars (several of these have since been removed). And for this reason this is worthy of three stars.
