Love it! Only been open for a few months, but it's great. Staff is friendly, food is great, and atmosphere is super clean and nice. Prices are typical for a Japanese steakhouse. Also fairly family friendly for a hibachi (which generally are more difficult for small children . Also, all the large paintings are done by the owner (and he's quite talented! We will definitely be back, for lunch or dinner. View all feedback.
What Brooke Leary Nichols doesn't like about Hakata Hibachi Steak Sushi:
I am so sorry to have to write this review but my visit was concerning. I hope this helps the establishment address food safety concerns. I sat down, ordered a diet coke and saw a mouse run across the floor into the kitchen. I immediately paid my $3.30 for the diet coke and left. It has haunted me since! The hibachi experience was standard. It was nice. The food was delicious. The chef was entertaining. Sushi was good as well. The restaurant looked clean. I would recommend this place for both sushi and hibachi.
read moreThe food, as usual, was good. The service tonight was pitiful. We asked for chop sticks twice ended up stopping a busboy to get some. My Cosmo was not made with cranberry juice though quite tasty. It took over 15 minutes to get the first 1 to the table. I cancelled the 2nd one after 20 minutes I was done eating. I asked for to-go boxes for the 3 of us and got 2 small single serving boxes, while others got the large size boxes. The cook didn't interact very much with the 9/10 people on our half of the hibachi. While serving the rice and veggies he over served the 1st couple folks so when he got to the last couple the portion size was significantly smaller. Maybe he thought they were heavy enough? Will I go back, maybe. But if the service doesn't improve, I may not have to worry about that as no one will want to sit through horrible service no matter how good the food might be.

read moreEach dine-in has been different. First the chefs are great. Second the horrendious wait times for drinks is too much and the waitress dosent speak remotely enough english to discuss their menu options. We are understanding but theres a point where it is just too difficult to order. Main course before appetizers? 20% tip was added to a bill while another bill had extra food on it. Be aware of add ons and enjoy the food!
