Willie's Chinese Food - Ottawa

Willies is a long standing Chinese take-out. they have been there many years for good reason. They stay consistent. They rival Golden Palace for the open end egg rolls smaller but way less expensive as well.

We lived in Orleans for 18 years and had never tried Willies. We had a "go to" place we ordered from for many years but after seeing a decline in quality the last while I decided to try some place new. I ordered just a combination plate of fried rice, chicken balls, and guy ding (without celery) for take out. First impression, I was surprised how much food was in the container. I was quite impressed. It not only looked delicious, it was delicious...The eggroll was nothing to brag about but the rest was very fresh and very good. The chicken balls were huge and filled with chicken. The vegetables were very fresh and I loved the rice. The service was prompt and friendly. It is definitely my new "go to" place for chinese take out. I actually had enough left over for a full dinner the next day.

Being new to Orleans my husband and I went to Willie,s Chinese food take out and were very happy with the food, I even gave them a five star review. On our second time as we intended to be regular customers, back we went only to get home and much to our horror the food was terribl, we literally had to throw it in the garbage. I have tried and tried to call them hoping they had some reason but could never get them to answer their phone. Poor customer service indeed. I now must stay avoid this take out Chinese food, simply awful.

Seven of us ordered Chinese food from this place for the first and LAST time. We ordered open end egg rolls, fried rice, general tso chicken, crispy beef amongst a couple of more dishes. Overall the food was OK, delivery was about an hour however one beef platter consisted of 80% onions with some small pieces of dried up beef at the bottom (you had to go hunt for them.) Very disappointing. One of us called to mention the lack of beef in the platter (despite the rest of the food being mediocre we thought at least they should put meat in the dish) and they basically told us there was nothing they could or would do about it. No problem just don't expect any of us to ever order from there again. There are much better chinese food take out places in the area; avoid this one.
