The best burger restaurant in North America, without a doubt. We are from Rankin Inlet, Nunavut, and every time we visit Ottawa, the Hintonburger is the first and last place we dine at.
My husband and I are huge fans of Hintonburger! Everyone at our wedding this past weekend couldn't stop talking about how incredible the food was. The salads were delicious and the burgers were juicy and simply melted in your mouth. We couldn't have asked for a better caterer to take care of our guests. The staff were friendly and extremely professional. A big thank you to Tom and his team for making our day absolutely perfect. We are so thankful.
This restaurant serves amazing burgers! The beef is always fresh and cooked to order, so be prepared to wait a few minutes when placing your order - it's not fast food service. The burgers are so delicious that the restaurant often closes early when they sell out. On days when they have leftover burgers, they donate them instead of throwing them away. You can also shop at Parkdale Market for other goods, or take your burgers to the nearby park/playground where there are plenty of benches and picnic tables. Make sure to check their website/Facebook as their hours change throughout the year. Please note they only accept cash payments.
Honestly, I don’t visit this place often because the prices for a burger combo are outrageous. However, today was definitely my last visit. The new location is set up strangely, and it could really use the touch of an interior decorator. When I arrived, the restaurant was completely empty. The girl at the counter seemed a bit awkward and socially uncomfortable. I ordered the #1 combo with a shake to go because I was starving. Normally, I don't check the bag before driving home, but I really should have today. As soon as I got home and was ready to enjoy my burger and fries, I opened the bag to find… NO fries! How does that happen when there’s only one customer in the place? What a complete joke!
Hintonburger is a well-known spot in Ottawa, but this was my first visit. I had quite high expectations. When you enter, you place your order at the counter, then find a seat and wait for your food to be delivered to you. The menu doesn’t overwhelm you with choices, which is nice. After ordering and paying, the server informed us that our food would be ready in about 10 minutes, and it was. The burger was good, but I agree with other reviewers that the price feels a bit steep for what you get. At nearly $15 for a combo, you could find a larger and better burger at other places.
