While some reviews note disappointments with menu items and personal tastes, others rave about the delicious, homemade food and excellent service. Gluten-free and LCHF options are available, along with generous portions and unique flavour combinations. The ambiance is cozy and welcoming, with everything from sandwiches to pastries made in-house. Overall, Good Eats is a popular local spot that caters to a variety of tastes and dietary needs, making it a great choice for a satisfying meal.
Just had an excellent lunch, 1/2 quiche and roasted cauliflower salad. The portions were generous, the service quick and friendly and the food...HEALTHY AND EXCELLENT! We knew it was going to be good since the line up was out the door and overheard many people commenting what they had for lunch the day before. Although I don't eat desserts...the look of the donuts, large gourmet cookies, date squares, and scones all baked in-house..almost made me reconsider! I was very surprised that the menu accommodated those who require gluten free options (including gluten free donuts, andwraps) but also LCHF way of eating. I will most definitely come back when I am back in Ottawa!
We actually found out about this place before going to Ottawa and sought it out because their food sounded unique. I am vegetarian and also a little health conscious so that's how I found this place. They have meat dishes but they offer substitutes for the meat if you're vegetarian--and they're also not soggy tofu or anything like that, but actual fake bacon for example. It's a pretty cozy place; so small we almost missed it actually! But the staff are friendly and the food was yummy for a good price!
A good and economical place for some healthy choices for local breakfast. The quality of food was good. The place is also at a walk-able distance from parliament hill. To note: The sitting area in the restaurant is a little tight on space and wont recommend to big groups (>5).
Very popular and only open for breakfast and lunch. Line up would have gone out the door if it was not pouring rain. My husband and I only grabbed a drink and home made granola bar and cookie however both were delicious. Everything is hand made on site and over hearing other patrons seems to be a great place for a light lunch. It was geat to support a local place rather than a large chain.
I have come to this cafe a few times for lunch. It is busy but for good reason. The best sandwiches and baked goods in downtown Ottawa, also the best mocha anyone has ever made me. Friendly staff, interesting options and a great old house.
