Contribute FeedbackThe restaurant in question seems to have mixed reviews. Some diners found the food to be disappointing, with bland flavors and overpriced dishes. Others enjoyed the inventive cuisine and creative flavors, even if they found the prices to be a bit high. Despite the varying opinions on the food, many guests praised the friendly service and top-notch presentation of the dishes. Some guests particularly enjoyed the takeout options offered by the restaurant, while others found the atmosphere to be noisy and overpriced. Overall, it seems like the Fraser Cafe has something to offer for a wide range of diners, with some loving the experience and others feeling underwhelmed.
What an incredible, yet unassuming restaurant! I can't believe I have never been here before until last night. Located by the edge of the beautiful New Edinburgh neighbourhood, close to the border of Vanier and downtown, FRASER is truly a gem in Ottawa. We enjoyed every bite of the food we ordered the house focaccia with house butter. The focaccia was soft inside and has a crisp outer layer. For the main course, I ordered the ferme rêveuse chicken and pillowy potato gnocchi. The chicken was well seasoned and cooked just right, which I slathered in the mustard celery relish/jus, further elevating the taste and experience it was the perfect blend of comfort and unexpected bursts of tanginess from the mustard celery. For dessert, we shared an olive oil cake with blueberry ice cream and fresh strawberries and raspberries. Again, everything was simply delicious and blended well without being too overpowering, I was afraid the cake would have a strong olive oil taste, but it was not noticeable at all. The food presentation was stunning, but the food was genuinely delicious. The portions could be bigger for the price though, so we had to remind ourselves to slow down because we just wanted to devour everything. We will surely be back again to try different dishes as I hear they change their menu. Thanks to the FRASER team for an unforgettable experience, keep serving up truly delicious food!
Fraser is a fantastic restaurant! Their chefs are amazing and are always coming up with interesting new flavours and dishes. Their menu is always evolving, and although I miss a few favourite dishes that eventually disappear from it, I have never been disappointed with anything I order. Very consistent, high quality, and innovative food!
Excellent food and excellent service. The food was unpretentious and each item on my plate was a standout. Well-thought out menu, as the flavours were balanced, harmonious, and bursting with flavour. You can taste the care that went into the preparation. Absolutely delicious. The menu is seasonal but for reference I ordered the curried tempura cauliflower (appetizer), the black pepper cornish hen potato gnocchi (entree), and the pistachio sumac pavlova (dessert).
We had a casual dinner with friends last night and Fraser Cafe did what they do best: gave us incredibly delicious food in a warmth and cozy atmosphere-this is the epitome of a French Bistro, indulging us in Ottawa to feel in Europe for a little while ?. Our food was simply delicious but I was particularly taken by the roasted beet salad with avocado crema. Every bite was a new, superb experience- absolutely delightful and delicious! Thank you guys for a lovely evening!
