Carleton Grill - Ottawa

We had reserved for a special Turkish buffet luncheon, were warmly greeted and seated. The visiting Turkish Chef was joined by the Carleton Chef and were there to explain the dishes throughout the buffet. There was a nice variety of very delicious hot dishes, traditional salads and desserts. Having enjoyed an excellent cuisine while visiting Turkey, we looked forward to this luncheon and we're delighted with it. The Staff were warm

Decided to try the restaurant in our Hotel; what a hidden gem this place is. Excellent customer service, the food is fresh and delicious! Cosmos and wine were pretty awesome as well.

This is a wonderful restaurant located inside Sheraton, Ottawa. The food is excellent and menu offers a great variety of items for surprisingly reasonable prices. Taco with tofu was a good treat. They also have special offers for interlude. Another plus point is the restaurant's kids menu.Ahmed needs a special thank you for his conduct and manner.

This is a great place to go for a business meeting. I have been a number of times now for lunch over the last few months, and it is quickly becoming a favourite. I choose to sit in "sasha's lounge" which is the less formal seating area next to the more formal restaurant. While the food is great, what I really like is the laid back atmosphere and quite, comfortable seating. It is perfect for a business meeting whether you are just going for coffee - or looking for something more substantial. Conveniently located, I would highly recommend this as a meeting place.

There are tremendous changes impacting downtown Ottawa restaurants, not the least chaotic downtown core construction on most main streets which results in less attractive pedestrian routing; new restaurants-cafés opening impacting competition; and, specific to the Carleton Grill, a recent merging of Westin, Sheraton, Marriott chain chain of hotels. This requires that I nuance my latest and very negative review of the Carleton Grill: on weekdays, a sous-chef is appointed and it is true that this kitchen does not reach its full potential. But, and this caveat is of utmost relevance, if you are invited and targeted by Chef Filliodeau for a special event, then you get top level haute gastronomie at reasonable price (ask the Sheraton to put you on the list.) You should also note that through an arrangement with Westin nearby, the Sheraton now has a more flexible kitchen to accommodate last minute allergic or otherwise sensitive guests. It is also important to specify that Chef Filiiodeau ( a Bocuse disciple) designs special events such as the one we attended recently, the "2nd Annual Beaujolais Nouveau dining event" which was exciting with each plate paired for wine tasting, brilliantly delivered from a decorative viewpoint, and exquisitely gastronomic. All of this on a weekday !!! In short, if you are searching for more than just a soup-and-sandwich, ask the concierge at the Sheraton to provide you for straightforward recommendations for good dining.
