Caffe Mio - Ottawa
Caffe Mio
Description
Caffe Mio is a beloved spot for many patrons, with consistently good food and excellent service. However, some recent experiences have left diners disappointed with the service provided. Despite this, the food remains excellent, with dishes like a fresh plate of greens, roasted red peppers, dried fruit, and goat cheese drizzled in raspberry vinaigrette receiving high praise. The restaurant's open hours have been a point of confusion for some customers, but those who manage to dine there have enjoyed delicious meals like meatball specials, Caesar salads, and thin crust meat lovers pizza. The warm and cozy atmosphere of the restaurant, coupled with attentive service and mouth-watering dishes like rack of lamb and Linguine Oceana, have left many patrons eager to return, despite some service hiccups. Overall, Caffe Mio offers a delightful dining experience for those looking for Italian comfort food in Ottawa.

Feedback
The food was fantastic, the service was top-notch, and I highly recommend this restaurant!
My partner and I went on a date at this restaurant last week and we absolutely loved the food and the ambiance. Highly recommended!
My dining partner and I went to this restaurant with a $40 Living Social coupon that was set to expire the next day. Since they are closed on Sundays, we made a reservation for Saturday night at 9:30pm. A heads up for anyone using a Groupon or Living Social coupon here: 1. Reservations are required for coupon redemption. 2. Alcoholic beverages are not included. 3. Confirm with your server that the items you are ordering can be redeemed with the coupon. 4. Your bill must exceed the coupon value for credit notes or cash back. 5. Dine-in only, no takeout. As for the food, we ordered garlic cheese bread, an Italiano flatbread pizza, a pasta dish, a Pepsi, and an espresso. Portions were generous, with the pizza being the size of a medium pizza and tasting better the next day. The pasta was average, but the garlic cheese bread was delicious. The total bill was $46. Service was quick, possibly because we were the last customers ordering. The ambiance was quaint but I found the television unnecessary. Prices were reasonable at $12-20 per person, with large portions offered. The restaurant had an elegant yet relaxed vibe. Overall, I may consider returning.
Both the calamari and the gnocchi we had here were superb, 5 star, among the best we've ever had which made it rather a disappointment when they delivered a rather standard 3 star at best pizza to the table. The atmosphere is pleasant, the decor attractive. The service was polite and attentive. As some have said, it's a bit noisy and cramped, but that's why they call it a caffe and not a restaurant, and why their prices are rather reasonable. We'll definitely be back but probably not for pizza.
