Experience during the Kovid times. SERVICE! SERVICE! SERVICE! Really can't say enough about how great the staff at Hung Sum restuarant is. A pretty little restaurant with a very cozy atmosphere that feels traditional but not obsolete. A wide selection of dishes that are easy to grasp. With a delicious blend of unique dishes and classics. They will not regret their taro dumplings, their delicious sticky rice in lotus... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Hung Sun:
This place is horrible, it’s the most worst place I ever had. The server is unrespect, the food was cold and sloppy, the porridge has no taste, even my grandma can do better than this. I don’t know how it get up to 4.3 star. View all feedback.
Used to frequent this place; seems that things really went down during the pandemic a beef/rice dish was served in a broken casserole, on top of the tous, beef was not edible too fatty and jello like. Really too bad, as much as I want to support local places, this is really unacceptable see photo. Do not recommend.
Really enjoyed our first dim sum experience here today. Wasn't able to try a lot of dishes, as there were only 2 of us..But everything was good. Looking forward to coming back with more people to try more dishes! Everything deep fried was crispy and not oily. Not a lot of vegetarian options though on the dim sum menu, if that's a consideration. Very good service, clean and tidy interior.
20211230 We must have ordered 10+ dim-sum dishes were completely full with left-overs to take home. Service price were both good. If you drive, arrive early as there are less than 10 parking spots reserved for Hung Sum. There are street parking in the neighbourhood though. Highly recommended!!
Homemade, authentic and tasty dim sum. Friendly staff who remember us every time we go! Always leave happier than when we arrive
One of the rare dim sum restaurants that makes all of their dishes from scratch (even the classic fried flat noodle dish you may be familiar with the 'Beef fried flat noodle dish offered in many Chinese take out). They started in the first floor of a single family dwelling roughly a decade or so ago and have moved to a proper restaurant building to accommodate more clients. Come early for the wait is long due to not only many customers but the dishes themselves are made from scratch and brought fresh right away from their steamers. Dim sum was always a weaker offering compared to Toronto but the availability of 'freshly created ' dishes definitely gives it the edge. It 'd be hard to find a place that doesn 't offer pre made dim sum dishes that are simply frozen goods placed in a steamer.Only negative is the long wait times but given the adage 'great things come to those who wait ' has never been truer!
