This is a no-frills bakery. On Tuesday around 4 PM, there were still plenty of options available. I had a pineapple Danish, a Portuguese egg tart, and two sandwich rolls for just $5.20! Based solely on the price, I’d give it 5 stars. While it wasn't the best I've ever tasted, it was quite good for the cost. One thing to keep in mind is that parking can be challenging! Make sure to drive carefully down the hill.
Had a craving for some pasteis de nata. Drove over 20 minutes to Ossining Bakery to satiate my tummy. It was well worth the drive. The pasteis was delicious, will definitely be going back. Thank you for making them as not many places up in Westchester do.
Do not pass but run to this Bakery. The bread and pastries are amazing and so so fresh. The Pasteis de Nata is my very favorite. If you have never tried this delicate dessert, you should. Always such friendly service too.
Rating: ★★★★★ The owner is incredibly friendly and always willing to answer our questions. The Portuguese egg tarts are a must-try—super flaky, not overly sweet, and absolutely delicious! When we arrived around noon, many items were sold out since they open at 5 AM, but we're definitely coming back next weekend earlier to try the chorizo rolls, cinnamon roll, and the "horses" (all sold out, which likely means they're fantastic). I’ll update the review as soon as we taste them. As for the other items: I give the Boston cream donuts ★★★★½; I would have liked a bit more cream inside, but the cream that was there was delightful. The marble cruller I’d rate ★★★; it was a bit too sweet for my taste, but my partner really enjoyed it. The jelly donuts didn’t do it for me at ★★½—I'm just not a fan, but my partner loved them. The marble pound cake got ★★; it was on the dry side for me. Lastly, the cheese Danish was a disappointment at ★½; I prefer more filling to dough, and while the filling was decent, it wasn’t evenly distributed—one side had barely any cheese at all. I might try some of the other pastries next time, as the ones we missed out on might be worth tasting. Overall, I’m looking forward to returning!
