Description

At this restaurant, experiences vary widely. While some patrons praised the friendly service and enjoyed dishes like fried haddock and a generous salad bar, others found the food disappointing, citing overcooked meats and lackluster flavors despite high prices. The ambiance is welcoming, but inconsistent service and food preparation raised concerns, leading some diners to seek alternatives. Although a few consider it a reliable local spot, many agree it lacks the wow factor that would make it a top dining choice. Ultimately, the restaurant appears to be a mixed bag, with room for significant improvement in both cuisine and service.

This restaurant offers great value and a friendly, inviting atmosphere. The bartender, Jill, is exceptional. The slow-roasted New York strip is delicious. The wait staff is attentive and accommodating. It's our favorite spot to take our adult sons and their girlfriends for a relaxing meal and drinks while catching up.

I went with the 'average ' rating because the food is always good when we go here, but it 's not so amazing you talk about it at work the next day and it 's not the first place that pops into our heads when we try to think of where to go. For our latest experience we met friends and ate at the bar. The bartender was very nice, but she seemed a bit scattered despite the place not being particularly busy. It was hard to get her attention and when you did, it was a bit difficult to KEEP her attention to ask questions. I got the chicken, paying a bit extra for 2 breasts, and got a side of smashed red potatoes. The chicken was moist and tender, the potatoes were delicious. My husband got the french fried shrimp and haddock and said it was good. One in our group got fettuccine alfredo and the portion was HUGE. She said it was really good. I know a lot of people swear by Uptown for their go-to supper club, but for us it 's a place we 'll go if someone else picks it but we don 't usually choose it.

This is our go to place for sit down restaurants. The slow roasted New York strip is excellent. I also enjoy the several options of soup (especially the clam chowder) and all you can eat salad bar. The price is just right too. The king size cut is only $18 and that includes the soup and salad bar.

Uptown is truly a hidden gem in the local dining scene. The food was fantastic, especially with the addition of a salad bar. Our server, Mary, was extremely friendly and attentive. You can tell it’s a great spot when it's bustling with locals. I highly recommend dining here!

The food and service at this restaurant were excellent! I ordered the fried haddock, which was crispy and not greasy. It came with rye bread, coleslaw, potato pancakes with applesauce and syrup, making it a perfect traditional Friday night fish dinner. The salad bar and soup were both buffet style.
