My Place - Oshawa

We were driving around Oshawa late on New Year's Eve looking for a restaurant that was open and serving food without a cover charge when we stumbled upon My Place. A sign in the window advertised a Souvlaki dinner for $10 - either pork or chicken. The small neighborhood bar had an open grill as soon as you walked in. The staff, Jimmy and Christina, were very friendly. The atmosphere was festive due to it being New Year's Eve. The food was fantastic. The portion size per person was huge, with tender, juicy grilled meat, a large Greek salad, pita bread, rice pilaf, Greek potatoes, and tzatziki. We couldn't finish everything. We returned the following week before leaving Oshawa and had the same meal, receiving an even bigger portion for the same price. It was definitely the best meal we had during our stay. Note: They only accept cash, no credit or debit cards. The restaurant is very popular for takeout orders.

I have never had a more unpleasant experience than the one I had at this restaurant. The food made me sick and the entire establishment reeked of cat urine.
