Only way to explain it is its like having orgasm of flavour in your mouth .I hate vets full stop but ate everything. Don't know what mark does to them but it works for me ca... View all feedback.
The BEST dining experience I have ever had! My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary. All of the employees were friendly, professional and had excellent customer service skills. The precision of serving each course was faultless. The food was a whole sensory experience. The amount of experience and detail that went into each menu item was very much appreciated and discussed in detail. The atmosphere was elegant and romantic. If you want a one of a kind dining experience and enjoy trying different foods then I highly recommend The Moor Hall Restaurant.
Great all round, went here for the taster menu with friends. It's a 2 star Michelin restaurant so you probably aren't going here based on my Google review but the experience was first class. Food was amazing.
Moor Hall is the best restaurant in England. I cannot argue with that statement. Obviously, I 've not been to ALL restaurants in England, but I have been to many. The experience from start to finish was immaculate. Upon our arrival, we were sat down for some drinks and treats, with the waiters explaining each in detail, but not too much as to be intrusive. We were then walked through the garden, being shown where and what they grow there, and how it is incorporated into the food that is prepared by Mark and his team. From the garden, we were taken through the kitchen for a tour, being given an introduction on how everything works and who works on what. Before being taken to our table, we were introduced to and presented with a treat from Mark himself. After sitting down, everything just got better and better. I don 't want to spoil all the surprises of the restaurant, but each and every course complimented the last, and every detail was perfectly presented. We ended our experience with coffee and tea and the strong notion that we will be back! Thanks to Mark and all the staff at Moor Hall.
I haven 't seen a bad review of the restaurant at Moor Hall and you will not find one here. Is it *the* best restaurant I 've ever visited? I 've though hard about this and I think it 's a pointless question. There are excellent restaurants and this is clearly one of them is one better than the others? Different from , yes, better than? I don 't know. I think this notion of The Best has an awful lot to do with competitive TV shows and ignores the fact that the real world is a complicated place in which not everything can be ranked on a linear scale. But I digress. You want to know if you should go, otherwise you wouldn 't waste your time reading this. The answer is yes. I have three pieces of advice: Firstly, ignore the numbers. Just let the bill form and pay it without examining it. Later on you can worry about paying it off and work out how long it will be before you can afford to come back again (and you will want to). Secondly, savour every single moment of the experience. The whole thing is carefully choreographed around you to give you the most amazing food and wine. Thirdly: cheese room. You must have the cheese with a glass of Burgundy. Sacrifice whatever sweet things you must in order to get the cheeses. The staff are lovely, the setting is delightful, the food and the wine are beyond compare and that 's the reason that I cannot say that it is The Best .
For our wedding anniversary we decided to treat ourselves to a night at Moor Hall. Stayed overnight in the Damson Suite and dined on the taster menu in the main restaurant. The entire experience was delightful. From the moment we arrived the staff were polite and attentive without being intrusive. The Damson suite was so luxurious and we were lucky enough to also be gifted a complimentary Moor Hall Easter egg. We sampled the complimentary afternoon tea and cake in the bar which was delicious and very relaxing sat in the vintage decor of the bar area. After freshening up in the huge free standing bath we finally began our taster menu journey in the bar area. After a couple of small bite courses we were taken through to the main restaurant which is a delightful transition from the traditional decor into the sleek modern ambience of the main restaurant. After a brief visit to the kitchen area we were seated at our table with clear views of the lake through the full height windows. What followed was nothing short of culinary wizardry. 17 or 18 courses of THE MOST unbelievable flavour-packed dishes I’ve ever the pleasure to eat. Not a single course dipped in quality. Mark Birchall is quite simply a genius! We finished up the evening back in the bar area and literally could barely finish the array of desserts we were offered we were that satisfied. The following morning at breakfast the food quality remained top notch as cold hot courses were delivered with same polite friendly attentiveness that runs through every single member of staff. To put the final touch on what had already been a magical experience we were gifted two savoury pear custard “cruffins” as a farewell gift. 5 stars doesn’t seem enough to convey how wonderful our stay at Moor Hall really was.
