Overall, based on my experience, I'd suggest if you are a steak person, you should prioritise a meal here. I had the starter special of lobster cocktail, which was a lobster instead of prawn but otherwise pretty traditional approach to prawn cocktail. For main, I had the Foveran fillet steak, which was served perfectly rare, as ordered, and really pretty excellent. Side of potato was great, half crispy, half boiled. Dessert was the lemon posset, which was lovely but a little sweet for me. A cup of tea came with a lovely little selection of fudge and shortbread. Wine list was good, but not extensive.

Well appointed, co... read more Returned after five years. Astonishing: the rooms are in exact the same immaculate condition as if the time could not leave any mark on them. Well appointed, comfortable and quiet. The restaurant is as convincing as it was five years ago. Nicely presented dishes of high quality with well sourced produce prepared to a high standard. Wine list is quite vast with lots to choose from only thing missing is beer from the tap as it is sold by the bottle only.
