It's easy to get to from the Stones of Stennes, although it's not mentioned until you check the site's history.

Interesting little site just behind the Stones of Stenness.

Hello, fellow explorers! Located by the southern shore of Harray Loch, on a point of land called Antaness and about 150 meters north of the Standing Stones of Stenness, you can find the remains of an ancient Orcadian settlement. Today, it is referred to as the Barnhouse Settlement, and only the reconstructed lower sections of a small part of the village's stonework are visible.

Not much to see, but it's worth it. just a short walk away from the standing stones of stenness, so I would not miss visiting this impressive website.

A short walk along one of the standing stones in stenness. this old settlement is fascinating. similar to the famous skara brae, but not where so busy near. well worth a look, the excavations are quite new (1984) and it looks as if there are more archaeology to discover. all very interesting.
