Manhattan - Orihuela

If you want a modestly priced English restaurant in the Cabo Roig area you couldn't do a lot better than The Manhattan. Buried away under a multitude of buildings this is a popular and buzzing eatery. A group of us went for Sunday lunch and were presented with a menu of about 5 starters and chicken pork or beef for the main. A good selection of puds but extra if you want a crumble! No complaints and a pleasant lunch.

We loved our breakfast here. We both had a full English (as you do, when hungover) and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. OH said his egg was a bit hard but he did not specify how he preferred it, so his fault. My breakfast was absolutely lovely. The bacon was particularly good quality, the sausages were fab and the portions were generous. OH said his coffee was a bit weak so when he ordered his second the lady made it stronger, and then checked later that it was ok. It was. The lady that attended us was friendly and looked after us well. My only critisism would be that it opened at 9.30 and we are really early risers so it was a pain to wait for them to open.

First time eating at this restaurant, had the large breakfast, although I have a very healthy appetite, I was almost beaten by the size, my wife had the Popular breakfast, quality produce and great atmosphere eating on the terrace next to the pool. I have found a lot of restaurants serve the food on cold plates, by the time you are a quarter of the way through, the food is cold. Plates were pipping hot, by the time we finished, the food was still hot, fried eggs really flavourful. A group of customers had the five item omelette, which filled the plate. Service was excellent and cannot wait to try an evening meal. We used to eat at the Orange Tree which has changed hands, so glad we found the Manhattan, will be our regular for sure. 10/10 for Breakfast

Staying at la rotunda, the Manhattan is the ideal location for the full works breakfast to start the day, or just to pop in for lunch , dinner is always a good choice here too, Thanks to the staff here for keeping our band full and happy over our weekend visit
