Chipotle Mexican Grill - Opelika
Chipotle Mexican Grill
Description
Chipotle has seen a mix of experiences from patrons, revealing both highs and lows of the popular chain. While some diners praise the flavor and quality of menu staples, like the steak quesadilla and steak bowl, others express disappointment over declining food preparation and inconsistent service. Complaints about the restaurant's cleanliness and the prioritization of online orders add to the frustration. However, many appreciate the friendly staff, particularly in busy situations. Despite some challenges, the vibrant flavors continue to entice loyal customers, though the establishment is urged to address its operational issues to restore its former glory.

The staff were friendly, and the food was good, but there were many items unavailable, making the menu somewhat unreliable. This location is not fully operational for walk-in customers, as they prioritize online orders over those in the restaurant. As a result, you may end up waiting a long time in line, even when there are only a few customers present. Additionally, online orders can deplete menu items even if they are placed after you've arrived. The dining area was quite dirty, with no clean tables and trash on the floor. Chairs were piled on half of the tables two hours before closing, and I noticed the absence of straws and forks. The soda also tasted flat. Overall, this place has really declined.
Used to love Chipotle but I can't remember the last time I had a good experience here. Food is never cooked well. It is always understaffed (you can only order online some nights). It's basically just taco bell now.
Here's the deal: the food is superior to what you find at other restaurants in this category, and the music they play is pretty cool too. However, the customer service is on par with McDonald's—mediocre at best. If you visit in the evening, be prepared to wait about an hour for your order, so it's best to have something else to keep you busy during that time. Honestly, it might be easier not to place an order at all. If the service matched the quality of the food, I would definitely consider ordering from them.
I was shocked to see the price of $16 for a garlic steak bowl. Are you kidding me? That doesn’t even cover a drink or chips! It’s really outrageous. While the food tastes good, the prices are simply unreasonable and far too high. Additionally, the dining area is in quite poor condition. It would be wonderful to see your restaurant cleaned up and your prices reconsidered.
This is the third time I've driven from Alexander City to visit this restaurant, only to discover that they only accept online orders. I prefer watching my food being prepared, and for some, ordering in person is much faster. I don't understand the rationale behind the online ordering policy when there are staff members around who aren't busy. I suppose I’ll need to look for another place to spend my money.
