I really wish I could give this place no stars at all. We waited an eternity for our food, and when it finally came, it was completely wrong. I ordered a burrito that was almost entirely filled with onions—absolutely disgusting! There was nothing on the menu that indicated it would be like that. I will never come back to Sonic again.
I waited 20 minutes for my food, which is simply unacceptable, especially since I noticed the staff just standing around chatting instead of working. My milkshake sat there untouched from the moment I arrived until my food finally came after that long wait. At one point, my food was ready, but they were too absorbed in conversation to bring it to the service window. This was the worst experience I’ve ever had at Sonic, and I used to be a huge fan.
This is the worst Sonic I have ever been to. The staff at the drive-in stalls seem disinclined to take orders, and for reasons that are beyond me (likely due to sheer laziness), they send you to the drive-thru. I’ve been waiting for a full 30 minutes, and after pressing the button at one of the stalls and being told to head to the drive-thru, no one has taken my order. Really? To top it off, they can't even manage to get an order right, even if their lives depended on it. I'm finished with this place.
I just finished work at 6 AM and reached the drive-thru about 12 minutes later. A girl named Jade answered the speaker, and her tone came off as somewhat rude—perhaps it was just the early hour. When I mentioned that I had a mobile order, she interrupted me with a frustrated tone, as if I had disrupted her day. Additionally, I had ordered extra sauce and was happy to pay for it, but I didn’t receive any extra sauce or cherry syrup. Why offer the option for extra sauce if it’s not going to be given? I understand that we all have challenging days, but all I wanted was a quick bite to eat and a friendly welcome. This Sonic really needs to improve; it’s becoming quite unprofessional.
I was hesitant to voice my concerns, but my visit to Sonic Drive-In on Alberta Street in Oneida was probably one of my worst experiences there. If possible, consider driving an extra 15–20 minutes to the Rocky Top location or another nearby Sonic instead. Additionally, I never received a receipt, which is important if your employer reimburses meal expenses. You might have a better experience than I did, but I wish you luck navigating their menu and service!
