Wheatfields was once one of my favorite breakfast places in downtown, but I've noticed a decline in their service lately. First, you have to stand in line to order your food, get a table number, make your own drinks, and then search for an available table. At least there are a few outdoor tables. Lunch was good, desserts were fantastic. What bugged us was the presence of house flies around our table that forced us to constantly attempt to shoo them away and the fact that the booth adjacent to us sat unbussed for a majority of our meal, even though several waiters walked by on numerous occasions when their section had no customers. Not only tasty, but a staple of Omaha for all meals I always enjoy the food, and my wife says it's been great for a long time.

The downtown location is beyond terrible. I would not suggest having your pet rat eat there. The morning we dined there they acted like it was a trial...
