**Restaurant Review: A Mixed Bag at Monarch**

Monarch offers a captivating ambience and exceptional service but struggles with food consistency and value. Diners rave about the stellar cocktails and recommend the steak and lobster bisque, praising the attentive staff. However, many experienced disappointing culinary moments, with cold dishes and uninspired flavors marred by a noisy environment. The limited menu and overpriced corkage fees also drew criticism, alongside an awkward valet situation. Despite the uneven quality, the restaurant's potential shines through, making it a topic of conversation for those looking for a lively dining experience in Omaha. A visit may be worth the risk.

I ordered a meal that was supposed to include dessert, but they ran out of desserts even though we placed our order well before others. To make matters worse, there was no adjustment made to our bill! I was also concerned about the order in which the food arrived.

We adore this restaurant! This was our second time dining here before a show at the Orpheum, and it did not disappoint. The decor is stunning, and the wine selection is impressive. The menu is fun, delicious, and offers a great variety. We made a reservation and were seated at a charming table for two. An added bonus: we used the valet service at Hotel Deco, and our car was safe and sound throughout the show for just $15! The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, especially Jack, our server. Even though he was a bit overwhelmed at one point, our food was served promptly, allowing us to reach the show with plenty of time to spare. I highly recommend this place! While it may be pricier than some spots in downtown Omaha, there are also many reasonably priced options available. You're paying for a superior dining experience and the convenience of being directly across from the theater. Five stars!

Horrible, overpriced food. Not surprising that there was almost no one there. It’s a shame because it’s a beautiful restaurant and hotel.

We had a good time at dinner and the ambience was very cool. The restaurant has a lot of potential but the food was just okay and, for the price, would recommend other restaurants in Omaha. Our server, Jack, was fun and knowledgeable and we appreciated his honesty regarding what dishes to order.

We had a lovely romantic dinner. The strip steak was absolutely delicious. It was on the pricey side, but definitely worth it.

Great restaurant always a pleasing experience; great food, nice atmosphere and service is great. Love the hamachi app and the brussels. I've had most everything on the menu and it's consistently terrific.

The good bad and ugly- I donno, this was a tuff one to rate, Good, atmosphere is great, white table cloths would go along way to enhance the overall feel. Good the calamari app was stellar, the menu is very simple and limited IMO. As were our main courses, but ok nonetheless. Bad-wine service is non existent, and they use Libby wine glasses, the corking fee is extortion, $25 per btl, and I had to open the wine myself ...priceless! Bad-our server had absolutely no knowledge of anything on the menu from the beers to the soup, cheese board to the mains. Not sure how long she has worked there? Good-she was efficient and pleasant even thou she had zero knowledge. Ugly-valet parking, more extortion. Beware it's $10 whether you eat there or stay there, and they don't tell you that until you get your car back, the guy actually attempted to hold my car hostage until we paid-we didn't pay. If your going to charge for valet tell the patrons up front and not hold there car for payment! Most hotels/restaurants comp any valet fees if you eat there-common sense.

What truly elevated our visit was the attentive service from our server and the entire staff, including the sommelier. They expertly guided us through the menu, recommending cocktails and perfectly paired wines. The team was prompt in clearing finished plates, striking a balance between attentive service and a leisurely dining pace. This seamless experience left a lasting impression, and we can’t wait to return. Monarch is a standout addition to Omaha’s dining scene, and we’re eager to introduce it to our out-of-town friends. Don’t miss out on this hidden gem!

Wow, that was an incredible dining experience! The food you see on cooking shows is right here in good old Omaha at Monarch Prime. I had the black pepper marshmallow foam on a potato leek soup to start—absolutely amazing! The unexpected flavor combinations truly surprise the palate and are visually appealing as well. The wait staff strikes a perfect balance, being attentive and professional without being overbearing. The presentation of each dish is stunning, and the fresh, mouthwatering food only enhances the experience. It’s really a well-rounded sensory delight. On top of that, the ambiance of the restaurant is gorgeous. It’s going to take me a moment to come back down to reality after this meal!

Exceptional service and an unforgettable meal! The kale salad and creamy French onion soup served with a baguette felt more like an appetizer. The filet was undoubtedly the best beef I've ever tasted. The red potatoes and asparagus rounded out our meal perfectly. The carrot cake was anything but ordinary; the chef added a unique twist to it!

Brunch was excellent. What makes this place the best place in Omaha to eat brunch is the food and how well seasoned it was. It was absolutely perfect. I recommend the hash dish. I left full and happy. I will be back!

Loved the atmosphere first and foremost. The lobby bar had great energy and tasty cocktails. I dined with vegetarians and found those options to be delicious and some of the best items on the menu especially the gnudi. I highly recommend goat cheesecake for dessert.

Literally wanted to eat everything on the menu! It was so good, we even came back for breakfast! Service was awesome. Definitely worth it.

Delicious food in a beautiful atmosphere, its a spot I plan to return to. The restaurant is located in the downtown area, inside the hotel Deco. This was my initial visit and I'm hoping that the food is consistent in the future, because if it is, it will be one of my favorite spots in Omaha. As well, I do hope that the service is friendlier in the future. It was professional, but a bit cold which was a little uninviting (from our server). The hostess and everyone else was very warm however. Blistered shisito peppers 5 stars This is the best shisito dish I've had in Omaha so far. Often they are flavored with an Asian sauce, but the chef let's these peppers shine on their own. Herb marinated Olives 5 stars Remiscent of my visit to Chicago when I was staying on the Fairmont gold floor. Wagyu steak and frites 5 star The sauce was so good on this. The flavor was subtle but I couldn't get enough. It was exceptionally tender. Pork shank 4.5 star Technically it could be a 5 star, my best friend certainly thought so. The outside was a bit over cooked but the inside closer to the bone was perfect. It might be an issue with the size which is absolutely massive. If you're hungry I'd recommend this. Lemon tart 4.5 stars A bit too sweet for me, but still an excellent dessert. The crust is stiff like a cookie so it took a bit too break. Creme brulee 5 star One of the best versions I've had. The sugar on top was a bit thick, I would have preferred a thinner crust, but the perfect consistency of the custard won me over. Parking is metered street parking but there is a parking lot. We paid $10 for the evening. We did not inquire if there was other parking available (for example in the hotel)

The food was delicious. The lamb was cooked perfectly and was tender and well seasoned. The desserts were amazing and prefect for sharing (or not sharing too). The service was quick and very friendly. I will definitely be back.

Great spot with food that impressed. While the menu for food and drinks is small, they got the nail on the head with every item. The options feel curated and perfected. The ambience cannot be topped in this restaurant and the staff was wonderful and friendly.

This is a fun place! Lots of stuff to see and the people watching is excellent. We shared the wyobi steak tartar...this was a first for me, but we heard they have the best in the area, can 't go wrong , so we tried it. It was excellent! The bar tender did an amazing job too...professional at every level. Highly recommended!!!
