Pareo Beach Onno - OLIVETO LARIO

The place is nice for the view and the beach but nothing more. The bar fine but quite poor. I had just one croissant for food. The Spritz is tasty but using plastic cups is just terrible. Overall, the usage of the plastic is too high, in my opinion. Also, the cappuccino was very very bad and extremely hot. I couldn't have even half of it. Make sure you take cash because the POS didn't work when we visited the place. For a chair, you'll pay 5euro.

Having passed this beach with its adjoining restaurant on many occasions we finally decided to spend the day on the beach and enjoy the tourist menu at lunch time. Our beach visit was fine but it all went wrong at lunch. (The snack bar food looks better than restaurant food) Anyway, we visited the restaurant and asked for the tourist menu. The waiter advised us that it was not available (advertised publicly on the road outside to attract customers) but should be available sometime in future. So we decided to choose from the very basic menu. The food we received was very poor, in fact some of the worst we have had in 2014 around Lake Como coupled with the unhappy situation that the waiter tried to overcharge us by around 20 euros by pushing up the prices of individual dishes and when questioned he advised us that the menu he gave us had last year 's prices.GOOD TRY!!! In our opinion he was trying to rip off english speaking tourists . Also be aware that normally there is no cover charge when one eats on the beach but at this place the cover charge is 3 euros a head. Far too expensive for this primitive place with old worn out furniture and basic food. High class proper restaurants charge 3 euros as a cover charge and that is acceptable. As we stay reasonably close to this beach for a number of months each year we were surprised that this place should be so un-tourist friendly. Never Again will we eat here.

Stopped off for a drink as we drove past. Their signature drink was terrific. The place has a fun beach vibe . Not a place to go for fine dining but if you want to relax and enjoy the view with a drink in hand try it out!

We dropped in to this beach side bar a couple of nights during our stay as it was beside our apartments. It was lively and full of young locals. The loud music added to the atmosphere but might not suit everyone. The food menu was quiet limited (calimari, tacos, chicken wings, platters etc) but fine for sharing with friends. The cocktail menu was a lot more expansive. Unfortunately the beach furniture was in very bad condition which put us off sitting for too long enjoying the spectacular views.

Basically, it is a nice restaurant-bar. Service is somewhat slowish, and the salads we had were below any sufficient level of beeing good. But, being on the beach, you can have a pretty nice time there!
