Friday evenings can be crowded (a sign of a popular place). The bad news for a hibachi restaurant is that you need to wait until there are enough people on your big cooking table. But for us it was about 5 minutes after we set ourselves. The food was tasteful and generous. My family and I have been here for many years. We enjoy it a lot. Most of the time, food is great. Every time in a while, food will not be so good. Overall, we are very satisfied.
This was our first visit to Yoto since it transitioned from Kyoto last year, and I must say, the food is still delicious. While it's a bit pricier now, the unique flavors remain! Thankfully, our chef had been with the previous owner, Jen, which added a nice touch. My spicy shrimp hibachi dinner was fantastic, and my husband was very satisfied with his hibachi dinner featuring shrimp and filet mignon; the steak was excellent, and the shrimp was delightful. They are currently updating their menu. The only downside is that they don't have a full bar yet and are currently limited to shots and straight drinks, but our waitress, K, was very accommodating with our drink requests which we appreciated. K was attentive, and her friendly demeanor was a definite plus! We'll be back soon. If you haven't visited since the change, you should definitely check it out!
Fridays can get quite busy at this restaurant, which is always a good sign of its popularity. The downside for a hibachi restaurant is that you have to wait until a full party gathers around your cooking table. Fortunately, we only had to wait about five minutes after we were seated. The food was delicious and plentiful. The chef's entertaining performance at the beginning really set the mood for the evening: he handed out the utensils, started a big flame to grab our attention, and cooked everything with a lot of flair.
Even better than Kyoto! The service is excellent, the staff is friendly, and the food is fantastic!
