Doe Bay Resort Retreat - OLGA
Doe Bay Resort Retreat
Description
The restaurant is known for expertly cooked halibut with a crispy outside and tender inside, although some found the squash peeling garnish difficult to chew. The chocolate mousse cake was moist and delicious. The menu offers pescetarian, vegetarian, and a few vegan elements. Some guests found the portion sizes to be small but praised the food quality. The noise level was a concern for some, but the service was friendly. Vegan options were clearly marked on the menu, and the small grocery store had a variety of vegan options for sale. Overall, the restaurant provided a thoughtful and tasty vegan meal experience, with dishes like mushrooms on white bean mash receiving high recommendations. The atmosphere and service left guests looking forward to returning for more vegetable-focused dishes and desserts.

Disappointing menu and service. There was no service. My friend got the piece of corn for $14. i got the garbanzo beans for $19. Our total with tip came to $43. Later i ordered a cider on draft and it was delicious. But we had to walk up and order, which was difficult since both of us are disabled. The entire thing was ridiculous. The food was not good, and obviously trying to be hooty tooty, but way missing the mark.
I have never felt such a cozy and beautiful atmosphere, the staff are so friendly and warm. They do a great job greeting everyone and checking in. I love it here, the way the windows look at over a sunny bay with great music playing this is definitely a site to behold. The names I was able to catch, Arthur, Evan, Bev and Brian know how to run this place. I am over the moon with the service and the food, I will highly hiiiighly recommend this place to all my friends visiting Orcas.
Yummy spring risotto and seasonal rhubarb galette. Nice vibe and friendly service.
I don’t know what happened the night we came here, but this was one of the absolute worst dining experiences we’ve ever had. When we left, we told ourselves we just made $150 donation to a small business. We made reservations, but when we got there, it was pretty empty. The chicken we ordered had zero flavor, the risotto was cold and the only part of the meal that we actually felt ok about was the nut and olive appetizer. We didn’t end up eating much of our food (we are foodies so this isn’t normal). Our drinks were extremely weak. Everything was sooo expensive. It really felt like they ran out of food, it was so odd. This was the one expensive dinner we wanted to have, so for it to be so disappointing, especially with all the other good reviews, was shocking to say the least. We came here February 2023 and this experience has stuck with us ever since. I finally decided to write a review. I wish we would’ve said something that night, but it felt super awkward. We almost called to speak to a manager or owner or something the next day, but we just left it. But all other mediocre restaurant experiences we’ve had since then are by far better than the meal we had here. Our server was very nice though, so I’ll give them that.
