We called in on spec to see if they could squeeze us in for Sunday lunch. There's ample room, and we soon got seated. We both ordered the roast chicken dinner and we were staggered at how much was on the plate..it was massive. Half a chicken/roast and mashed potatoes/carrot/parsnips/broccoli and cabbage. We utilized the upstairs function room for a funeral wake on a Thursday, and it exceeded our expectations. We opted for the hot buffet menu, which was ideal for the occasion, offering a variety of options and including tea, coffee, and access to the small bar. The pricing for the room hire, food, and drinks was reasonable. Afterward, we spent the afternoon and early evening in the main bar area, where our older kids and young adults enjoyed the pool table. The staff were friendly and accommodating to our group. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
The beer was excellent but on the pricier side. The service was prompt, and the pub had a peaceful atmosphere with horse racing shown on the TV. The toilets were clean and in good working order, with no issues to report.
This pub is fantastic! The Sunday lunch is tasty, with a wide variety of food to choose from at a great price. It's a family-friendly spot that I highly recommend.
