Dufflet Bakery remains a popular choice for celebrations, offering a variety of fresh and visually appealing cakes, including vegan and gluten-free options. Customers praise their moist sponges, flavorful tarts, and reliable service, often highlighting the ease of ordering and in-store convenience. However, some express disappointment over the overly sweet or artificial-tasting icings, uneven cake presentation, and the use of flash-frozen cakes rather than freshly made products. While many cherish Dufflet for special occasions and appreciate attentive customer service, quality inconsistencies and value concerns have led a few to seek alternatives or homemade options.

The presentation left much to be desired; the layers were so uneven that I could see a difference of about 1.5 cm without even measuring. And the icing—if you can call it that—was almost non-existent and the outer layer was applied so sloppily. A child could have done a better job. For $30, I expected a better product than a small cake that isn’t complicated to make—just mix, bake, and apply icing. Someone at the store mentioned that it comes frozen and is simply defrosted, which means it's not freshly made either. That feels really disrespectful to me as a customer. I won’t be purchasing this cake or anything else from Dufflet again.
I've been wanting to try a pastry from Dufflet for some time, and I finally made it there today. The friendly staff assisted me in choosing a tart that wasn't too sweet: the key lime. It was delicious! I definitely recommend Dufflet.
I was in a bind and needed a quality birthday cake quickly, so I decided to go with a Dufflet cake. Unfortunately, that turned out to be a big mistake! Dufflet used to be synonymous with quality, but I was sorely disappointed. I paid $20 for a small lemon cake that was topped with that overly sweet, artificial icing found on cheap children's cakes, and there was barely any lemon flavor. What happened to the delicious buttercream you used to offer? I’m giving it 2 stars because it was visually appealing, and the sponge cake was moist. However, the disappointing icing and lack of flavor really marred my enjoyment of the cake, and that was a letdown for a special occasion.
Great service as always. Forgot my tile log pickup yesterday and they honoured the order today without problem. Another reason we always get cakes for important events for the last 25 years!
I really really don’t know how this place got such great reviews! It looks cute, cozy, and inviting, from the outside, but the service is lacking; the regular brew coffee tastes watered down and unappetizing, and although the pastries look delicious the pastry we got were hard like they had been sitting exposed for too long.My girlfriend and I were the only customers and it took forever to get our order. The server never heated up her apple crumble properly, as she requested, or it could be that by the time he heated it and stood chatting in the back with someone while holding her pastry over their unmasked faces it was brought out cold and sprinkled with unseen salivary fluids!A couple of ladies came in and left after about 10 minutes. The place has a weird vibe it is really not a hip coffee/pastry place that you can relax in or get delicious coffee, or warm melt in your mouth scrumptious pastries.??
