Hideaway Pub - OLD LYME

I am thoroughly disappointed with my experience. The waiter seemed very disinterested from the start. He took our order, set the table, and brought our drinks, but when he returned with the appetizers, the problems began. We ordered Buffalo wings, calamari, and popcorn Cajun shrimp, and everything was incredibly low on salt, prompting us to add salt to everything. To make matters worse, the wings were undercooked. The only highlight was the lava cake, which was excellent. Our second waitress, who took over after the first one left, was very friendly and sweet, but unfortunately, that wasn’t enough to redeem the experience. I cannot recommend this place; the portions are very small compared to the prices, and the service was lacking for the most part. Overall, this restaurant fails to provide both quality and quantity. I do not recommend it.

The dining experience was fantastic! The service was excellent. Be sure to try their stuffed mushrooms!

During our recent visit, we were hoping to enjoy a nice meal in a pleasant atmosphere. Unfortunately, the vibe has shifted, and it now feels slow and stagnant. The restaurant is filled with rude locals and regulars, which detracted from our experience. The menu feels outdated and overwhelmingly large. We used to eagerly anticipate their specials, but now they seem to be repackaged items from the regular menu. This establishment used to be a fantastic spot where we could enjoy a delicious meal and then relax in the bar area with some piano music and drinks. I left feeling quite disappointed and don’t plan to return.

The fried Calamari was a little chewing about chef. The Marinosauce was sweet. The main dishes looked fabulous.... unfortunately, the meal was rather a dessert than a main course. The filled flounder was filled with crab plugs with SUGAR!! Covered with a cream cherry sauce with too much SUGAR. my dish, scallops, shrimps and vegetables was sweet. The red cherry peppers were much too sweet, the 2 scallops and 4 shrimps were good, the rest of the dish remained in the dish.

Food is ok, cocktails are awful. Tried here twice now, both times the cocktails were terrible. I really wanted to like it.
