We go to Block Island every summer and finally checked this place out for breakfast yesterday during a short visit to the island and our food was amazing! One of the best omelettes I've ever had! Waiter was very friendly and atmosphere is great. Wish we had gone here sooner we definitely will be back! View all feedback.
What Marc Michaud doesn't like about Bethany's Airport Diner:
If I could give negative stars I would. After an hour and 20 minutes, we asked the server about our order, she came back 10 minutes later and said she doesn’t see it on the line, doesn’t know what happened, and well, maybe you’ll have better luck next time. I’d love to say the food was good or bad, but despite waiting 90 minutes, we didn’t get any. Stay away from this horrible place. View all feedback.
This place is a Block Island staple! Casual diner attached to the airport, perfect for a lunch. Service was EXTREMELY slow last time I visited for no discernable reason, but the food was great! I had the BELT sandwich (blt with egg) and my boyfriend had the chicken strip basket. Both were delicious!
This gem!!! If your visiting block island this is a must for breakfast ?.I'd love to review on lunch but we have only ever had breakfast and it's a 10/10 service and food is always phenomenal.
Let 's start with the good. Great location right off the runway to watch the airplanes take off and land; indoor, screened porch, and outdoor seating; friendly service. The food was hit or miss. The big red basket of onion rings was half full, and while they were nice and crispy, they were overcooked to the point of tasting burnt. The turkey club sandwich was great, fresh greens, crispy bacon, and a healthy layer of turkey! But the real disappointment was the crab cake sandwich. Generously filled with imitation crab stick (made from cheap white fish), with little real crab, to the point of lacking any distinctive crab taste. I was expecting more of a $19 market price crab cake on an island in New England, where I had just seen kids pull up green crabs by the bucketful on the way there, and Jonah crabs can give you several ounces of meat from the claws alone for less than the price of a cup of coffee. If you decide to go there, stick with what they know, American diner fare. I will be grabbing a sandwich downtown and sitting at one of the picnic tables next time.
Needs to be updated desperately (inside and out). Table and chairs appear to be from a yard sale in the 70 's. Unstable seating outside on gravel. Umbrellas are in broken buckets with rocks. Lots of bee 's outside. Service could have been a little more friendly. But there are some Pro, 's... The atmosphere is beautiful overlooking the runway and the food is decent. it just needs a lot of TLC.....
The breakfast burrito was great! Service was really good and very quick. Also it was enjoyable watching the airplanes coming in while enjoying breakfast.
