first, I wasn't sure if it was the place or the menu. be they as soon as the service said I was immediately calmed. the cocktails were amazing. the food was excellent! the suppe was unique and delicious, the lobster mac and cheese was so good we almost order one for dessert! another reason to come back to BLOCK ISLAND! Below expectations. Food was meh. Steak ordered medium rare was not medium rare it was cooked too far. Tuna could've used more flavor. The high prices do not correlate. Also even though it was resolved, tried to cram our party into too small of a table that initially was very uncomfortable. View all feedback.
Unique menu and the food was delicious. Exceptional friendly and attentive staff. It was a wonderful experience.
More like 4 1/2, but still excellent. Interesting menu, descent wine list, nice atmosphere. Superior wait staff. Wonderfully prepared food, quality ingredients and an overall great dining experience.
Listen, I'm honest.... I never thought twice about lobster Mac and cheese.... always overestimated until tonight. It turns out that every place makes it wrong... that was pure fire! Unbelievable. Fresh bread comes to the table with a roasted garlic and cheese. Wonderful. I know my fillet mignon, and it with the Cheddar cheese au gratin was ineffective, but since my wife and I always shared our entree (for my benefit), the swordfish with the cheddar polenta was also ridiculous. Despite the inconspicuous but sweet, waitress and the dreadful drink (lemon basil smash.... too sweet).... this meal was incredible. Not cheap, but really crazy good food!
Every time my wife and I go to Block Island, we book at Winfield. This place has the title, in our world, as our favorite restaurant in Block Island for years. On the photos below you will see the lobster Mac and cheese and the tuna tar apps and then see the cod head along with the pork. Amazing!
Absolutely fabulous dinner. My wife’s swordfish was large and fresh. My cod was the best that I have ever had. Everything was super fresh. Emily was our rock star waitress. Overall, just a great experience.
