The Blackened Salmon Sandwich has my girlfriend and I driving up from Baltimore City twice a month to have it. It is more important to us than family gatherings, dreams and ambitions, or our own feelings and well being. The Blackened Salmon Sandwich, is, in fact, the second coming on a bun. The Blackened Salmon Sandwich resuscitated my dying grandmother and saved a dozen kittens from a burning building, blindfolded.... View all feedback.
What C Cobear doesn't like about Phoenix Upper Main:
Located in heart of town with short walk to public parking. Late lunch not crowded bartender provided great service while completing daily prep work. Fish and chips were sub par. Fries salty and overall entire dish too greasy and frankly minimal fish inside the two portions. i would repeat for drinks and atmosphere but not the food. View all feedback.
Love the new location. Try the hotzarella sticks as an appetizer. My only criticism would be the salt levels of The Bear sandwich. I first had it about a year ago and it was amazing. Had it again and it was inedible. Still a place I'd say is worth checking out.
Service was slow but could be due to lack of servers. Wheelchair accessibility: Not sure if the side door is wheelchair accessible but the main entrance isn't.
Everyone was very nice and our server was great. Food came out quickly and tasted good. Vegetarian options: They have a vegie burger. Parking: Bit of a walk for parking.
Now don't be fooled, I didn't give it a five because the food is always excellent and the drinks are top notch. What is consistently good here is the people, from the hostesses to the wait staff to the bartenders, to the owner, Mark. The Phoenix is an institution, not unlike the Judges Bench, across the street, orthe Trolley Stop down the road, they have survived the test of time It's been around for a real long time and they aim to please. The wings are great. The burgers are great. The rueben is great. Stop on by.
Phoenix feels a little bit like a dive bar, but perhaps a bit more upscale then that. You can expect some decent bar food and the service members are great and friendly. What I really appreciated here was both the number of beers in their selection as well as their own brews from which to choose. If you are a beer person and want to try some new ones out, this might be the place to go!
