Little Market Café - Old Ellicott City

I've been here a few times and enjoy their food and coffee- notably the waffle hauz Sammy. They have a good selection of gluten free food and the staff is friendly. My only complaint is that when live music is going on people are not prohibited from sitting at the tables for long periods of time even when they haven't ordered anything/ have been finished for quite some time. It's frustrating to arrive, order an entire meal and then have no where to sit because people are using tables just to listen to the music. The music is good! I get it! But literally the only place for us to sit was very very close to the band, and that close the noise was too much for my baby, who started crying pretty much immediately. If the people at the tables in the main seating area were all eating I wouldn't be bothered, but at the handful of tables not a single group had more than a couple sips left in a single cup of ice coffee. Perhaps enforcing a time limit on the very limited seating area is something that could be done during the live music? I just wanted a place to sit with my baby and eat, but instead just felt out of place and unwelcome. I'll be back, but will probably stay away on weekends and whenever I hear the sounds of music coming from the patio :

Actually 3 1/2 stars. Things I love: atmosphere, vegan options, lots of other food options, the coffee drinks are awesome. Things that could improve in my option: it would be great to use good local bread for the sandwiches, like from The Breadery or Great Harvest. It would elevate the sandwiches. Today, I got the vegan blt and it had one measly slice of tomato on it. I would have been nice to have 2 slices since it was a blt. I would have also preferred a local tomato since it is summer. Also, the vegan bacon seems like it is like raw lunchmeat consistency which is not preferred on a blt.

I’d give this place 5 stars because I have had other great things but the Lobster Roll today was not so good. To be honest I’m not even sure it was lobster. No lobster taste at all. I did eat it but for $25 it should be much better than that. To the chef give it a taste yourself, perhaps a bad batch of really poor quality meat.

Lovely spot in old Town Ellicot city. Got myself a chicken curry salad sandwich on nine grain bread and my bf got a small pizza. The portions were so big we were able to take it home for dinner too. Grabbed an apple fritter that was also a perfect sweet ending to the meal.
