Went on a weekday afternoon. It wasn't busy at all and had to wait quite a while. The food was delicious, and probably worth the wait. I wish their menu was a little more diverse, but the fried chicken was great and the okra was great! I like the pickles and onions as a side, too. The cash only thing is annoying. A little pricey for my tastes, but when we have a buck or two, we'll be back! That's for sure! If you've... View all feedback.
What Elliott Beahan doesn't like about Eischen's:
an oklahoma has to dive. this place is only 22 minutes away from our house, and it was worth the ride! not many sauce options, but this huh didn't need sosty. give them a few extra minutes to order the bun fresh in the meantime, we sucked on fried okra and chili cheese afteros. the chili cheese afteros are nothing special (always well, but the okra was fantastic. when we go back, we'll stay on okra and huh, because i... So I love me some good fried chicken. So much I would drive almost an hour away bc everyone had said this place was good. At first glance, the place is kinda old and in the middle of no where. Lots of parking. A town called Okarche. It's not much a scenic drive but the chicken is worth it. Be sure to eat it in the restaurant or in the car as soon as you get it. It just doesn't taste the same when eating it at home. I've done it all 3 ways. Car, house and restaurant. Best is the restaurant. It fresh and crispy. Inside of the restaurant os very busy... lots going on here. Staff is very attentive and fast. We always order the whole chicken, okras and nachos. Nachos are ok. Just stick w the chicken and okra. This comes w a side of dill and bread and butter pickles, onions and sliced bread. The chicken is perfect and juicy everytime we get it. I love how it's simple and not overly done w seasonings. If you ever want a long drive for some good chicken, give them a try. I washed mine down w am iced cold Coke w extra ice.
Off the beaten path, Eischen's boasts being Oklahoma's Oldest Bar. With a simple menu of just 8 items, they are able to keep their prices down. The menu and portions are designed for a family-sized appetite, so I suggest bringing friends! They do have a full bar as well. The fried chicken really is good, as is the fried okra. It is a whole fried chicken that comes with bread, sweet pickles, dill pickles, and onions for only $14! Wow! One way they keep those prices down is by only accepting cash, so don't forget to bring that with you! While I would like to suggest the Chili Cheese Nachos, which we often order to have a little variety, they are not really that good, and...read more

Best fried chicken. Period. And I mean chicken--a whole chicken! Eischen's isn't a drive from OKC, but worth it. It is not fancy, but does one thing and does it well. By the way--it is the oldest bar in Oklahoma.
