I was really looking forward to having some pizza.

We found Mizzoni, which was the closes... read more My best friend and I were really hungry and craving pizza, so we decided to look for a pizza place while we were driving. We found Mizzoni, which was the closest one to us. What a great discovery! Located in Ohakune, Mizzoni is a small truck trailer or shipping container. I was surprised by how small it was, but the pizza there was delicious! I ordered the vegetable pizza with beets and caramelized onions, and I got to watch as my pizza was made, right down to the dough tossing. My best friend ordered a pepperoni pizza, which we found to be different from what we were used to in the US (just an fyi for Americans). The staff member working there was extremely friendly and passionate about the town and the pizza company. He was easy to talk to and we really enjoyed our conversation with him. Since we were the only customers there, we felt like we had a personalized experience. There are only a couple of outdoor tables near the restaurant, so I would recommend taking your pizza to go if it's cold outside. I found it a bit chilly when I visited in early spring, but the view of the mountains was stunning. Overall, I left Mizzoni wanting more!
