Ligori's Pizza Pasta - Ogden
Ligori's Pizza Pasta
Description
The restaurant in question is described as an unpretentious parlor, with mixed reviews from diners. Some were disappointed by the lack of ambiance, as well as the use of plastic and paper plates for serving. However, the pizza was a standout dish for many, with plenty of toppings and good flavor. Prices were a point of contention, with some feeling they were overpriced for the quality offered. The service received mixed reviews; some enjoyed the friendliness of the staff, while others found it lacking. Despite the mixed feedback, the overall consensus seems to be that the pizza is the highlight of the menu, with other Italian dishes not quite living up to expectations.

We also tried the ravioli, but there were only four pieces, and the sauce was nothing special. Overall, it didn't justify the high price, and they were served on a paper plate, which was quite disappointing. However, the real highlight was the pizza. It was genuinely good, well-made, and loaded with toppings. If it weren't served on a paper plate, it could have been quite impressive. If I decide to return, I'll stick to ordering just the pizza, as it was the standout item of the meal. I have to say, I was genuinely pleased with the pizza—it was definitely the saving grace of the visit.
We enjoyed a meal with a reasonably sized group, and the staff were exceptionally friendly. The service was quick, and the food was great. Despite being in an older building, the restaurant was clean!
It’s been quite some time since my last visit, and I wanted to share my experience upon returning for the first time in a while. I’ve always enjoyed Ligori's and have been a patron since the 90s. I was a frequent customer at Morelli’s in Layton until it closed, but now I’m back at Ligori's. Overall, I was happy to return, but I must admit I was somewhat disappointed. Using plastic utensils and paper plates? Styrofoam cups for drinks? I understand if this is the case for takeout, but in the dining area? With the COVID concerns dwindling, it feels like it’s time to move away from having salt, pepper, and condiments in paper packets as well. Additionally, I was surprised by the new policy of only offering one beverage refill before charging extra for more. I spent $60 on my meal, and honestly, nothing seemed to have changed or impressed me enough to justify those higher prices. The staff appeared unkempt and were often lounging at a table next to the register, with a few of them gazing at diners while they ate, which was unsettling. While our server was friendly, I would have preferred to share a more meaningful conversation with my dining companion instead of with her, and I would have appreciated a quicker service in getting our order taken. I’ll likely continue to visit Ligori's, but I doubt I will choose to dine in again.
The food was served on paper plates with plastic utensils, and the staff was rather unfriendly. We ordered the pepperoni garlic bread, but it ended up being soggy. The marinara sauce tasted like it came straight from a can and had no real flavor. Furthermore, the garlic bread was overly greasy. I won't be coming back. The Layton location provided a much better experience.
