This visit to a Costa Vida location wasn't our favorite. Some of the staff seemed eager to close up for the night, which created a bit of a rushed atmosphere. Additionally, there were two different types of music playing at the same time: some relaxing beach vibes mixed with screamo music that included swearing. Normally, I wouldn’t mind the music, but the combination felt off for the moment.

I interacted with many families during the closing hours, and it was a really pleasant experience.

The food is consistently excellent! I really hope they bring back the salmon; it was fantastic in every dish, from tacos to salads.

I really enjoy the food at Costa Vida. The Barbacoa Beef is my absolute favourite. My one and only complaint is that they make online orders at the same station they take in-person orders at. My family has legit stood there for 5+ minutes without a single hello, or without any eye contact with the employee who is taking the orders. It is really awkward to stand there without ever being acknowledged. This employee slapped together 4 online orders as we stood there silently. My entire family nearly left to go across the street to Cafe Rio. Honestly, Cage Rio has very similar menus options and they prepare online orders at a separate station and we are greeted right away. The only reason we chose Costa Vida first is because it's easier to make a right onto Riverdale Road rather than a left out from Cafe Rio ? I understand Costa Vida does not have the setup to make online orders at a separate station, but good lort at least acknowledge the customer standing right in front of you and maybe make them the priority over a customer who is not physical there. I want to add that myself and the other two members of my small family were the only ones in the store so there would have been plenty of time to get the online orders finished after we placed our order. Vegetarian options: Rice, beans, pico, lettuce, cheese, fresh jalapeño, tortillas, tortilla chips, tortilla strips, cinnamon sugar tortilla. Basically a salad and a few options for toppings and a sweet tortilla for dessert.
