Good food. Very busy place. The waiter did forget about us as he stated and apologized. We needed refills and the check to pay. It was near the 3 pm shut down time. View all feedback.
My family and I found this little place while on vacation on Ocracoke Island. We had never eaten here before, and had no idea what to expect. Quickly You'll find that the one thing this island lacks is a lot of choice when it comes to dining options. It's a small island. There isn't a lot to choose from. However, we stumbled upon this little place and waited until it opened for the evening at 5:00 p.m.. we were pleasantly surprised and glad we did! The food was some of the best we had on vacation! Service was also awesome and prompt. The restaurant was immaculately cleaned when we went in! I think everyone in our party enjoyed their order. Very much. Prices were average and fair for what you get. Portions are quite large, and very satisfying. Food was served very promptly and fresh. Would definitely eat here again if I visit ocracoke in the future. Vegetarian options: While they're vegetarian options aren't the most plentiful I've ever seen, there are several options that are vegetarian friendly or can easily be made. Vegetarian friendly here. I highly recommend what they call the hippie wrap. If you are vegetarian, try it! You'll be surprised! It's good! They also have pizzas and several sandwiches that can be made. Vegetarian friendly. Would also be quite easy to make some items vegan friendly by leaving off the cheese and dressings. Not a bad option for the entire family. Dietary restrictions: Although this is a small little restaurant on a kind of isolated island, they offer a wide variety of dishes and pizzas for that matter. They also have sandwiches, seafood if you're into that kind of thing, etc etc. It wouldn't be difficult to find something to suit most dietary needs here. Just be aware that many things are served with cheese or other possible allergens or dietary exceptions. Ask your server, and I'm sure the very friendly people here will be willing to help you out. Parking: Be advised. This is a small restaurant with kind of limited hours on a remote Little Island which can only be accessed by ferries or plains. The focus of this island is not really vehicle friendliness, and you'll see that right away. They have some parking available for free. Just be aware that when busy, parking can quickly become an issue on a small little island. Kid-friendliness: This place has options to suit even the pickiest kid. With pizzas, sandwiches, etc. Your little one is likely to find something to fit their rather picky appetite. My family was traveling with my great-niece on our trip to Ocracoke, and my 8-year-old great-niece absolutely loved this place! Place! She pretty much fell in love with Jason's restaurant the first time we went. Wheelchair accessibility: I'll be honest here. Although they do have a ramp, since this is a small place on a kind of isolated island that is accessible only by ferry, buildings have to be built up rather high in the event of flooding, etc. For this reason, this building is built up a bit high, and a bit of a climb for a wheelchair up their. Ramp. They do have a ramp, just be aware that it is kind of a narrow ramp, and kind of a steep climb. Once inside, the restaurant is very accessible.
The Big Pig is the way to go. Leftover 5 pizza is the perfect breakfast to put fish in the boat.
