We go to The Plot every time we are in the area. Yes, the menu is plantbased, but everything is amazing here. The sushi rolls are great, “chicken” and waffle is a must have View all feedback.

I ordered sushi and vegan chicken and waffles to go. I love that they have a vegan brunch menu! I’ve been missing that for so long! And the chronic sushi was yummy! The spicy tuna, crab, and avocado was a great combination and you couldn’t tell it was vegan. I would definitely order that again, however the chicken and waffles weren’t my absolute favorite. I’m not a vegan but I enjoyed everything immensely. I would come back in a heartbeat. What impressed me the most is the quality of the food. No Morningstar farms frozen patties here. They also get all the textures right. Things look right and feelright in your mouth. Its the best vegan food I’ve ever had. The vegan sushi was life changing. The truffle flavor of my rollwas amazing. The “caviar” had amazingly authentic mouth feel. Everything I ordered was of similar quality. My only advice isask for more syrup with the waffles!

My husband and I met up with friends at The Plot, bringing along our baby and puppy. We chose to sit on the covered outdoor patio, which was great because the restaurant is dog-friendly! Our server was incredibly warm and attentive, carefully noting all the allergies in our group. He suggested delicious dishes and provided excellent service throughout. The food was outstanding—creative, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Highlights included the cauliflower starter and the gnocchi main course. We also enjoyed the live music, which added to the ambiance. On top of all that, the restaurant is zero waste and plant-based, which was a big plus for us. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and we highly recommend The Plot to everyone!
An absolutely incredible dining experience! Although it was my first visit, I had been eager to try The Plot for over a year. We went to celebrate a birthday with Sunday brunch. Our waiter was both knowledgeable and amusing while answering all my questions about the dishes. Choosing was tough! I tried biscuits and country gravy with sausage for the first time, while the birthday guest opted for the breakfast burrito—despite the warning that it might lead to an hour-long nap afterward. The food was divine, melting in my mouth with every bite. I savored it slowly, enjoying the creamy, savory sausage and gravy, finished with a hint of sweetness. My boyfriend gave his all to finish the burrito, which came with salsa verde to complement the corn, bean, and veggie-filled tortilla. As a delightful surprise, we ended our meal with a slice of Plot cake topped with fresh fruit and cream—I could have eaten that all day! I can’t wait to return for dinner on a weekday, come back to brunch, and bring friends along next time.
This is an amazing vegan restaurant in South Oceanside. They offer plenty of delicious comfort food options, including meatloaf, chicken and waffles, biscuits and gravy, and shepherd's pie. I highly recommend trying the Chronic sushi roll, which features plant-based tuna and crab; it’s tempura-fried and absolutely delicious! I will definitely be returning!

This is easily the best vegan food in San Diego! I would absolutely recommend.
We really appreciated the sincere, stellar service from Kai, our waiter. His menu and ingredient knowledge run deep and his passionate love of food and The Plot’s mission to share the love and bounty was infectious. Made for a really great experience!
I made reservations at this restaurant because my friend is a vegetarian. However, I am not a usual plant base eater and I can tell you that the food was outstanding. The drinks were delicious and the staff was gracious and overall wonderful. I love that the restaurant utilize their own garden and source locally. I had the sweet potato gnocchi and it was divine. I definitely recommend and will be going again.
What a great place to meet friends!!! The food was great, they accommodated gluten free, and everything tasted amazing. I highly recommend The Plot!
The food was terrific, enjoyable, and delicious. It is so nice to go to a restaurant as a plant-based eater and order anything you want off the menu. I had the chicken and waffles , and loved it. Our waitress McKenna was amazing, kind, and helpful. We will come back anytime we are in town!

Great flavors! We ordered almost 1 of each of the starters. Great. I usually eat vegan and meat.
The food was great. But there could’ve been more gluten-free options. The restaurant was busy and our waiter, who was a manager, took forever to bring our dessert. The coffee was cold by the time the desert got there. We were also promised a coupon to come back, and he never gave it to us. I love the ambience and the fact that the restaurant is vegan. If this had been my first visit, I would question coming back because of the not so great service.
Super tasty and innovative food took my vegetarian daughter for her birthday dinner. We all ordered different entrees and shared and loved them all! Fantastic inventions on this menu the days of tofu only are behind us, apparently. Loved the super friendly service!

My daughter wanted to try this restaurant. My husband and I are not vegetarian nor vegan, we were hesitant. So glad we went! The food was delicious, full of flavor and true to their mission. And…our server was amazing! We can’t wait to go back.
