Sadly one of our orders was a duck confit that arrived really undercooked and was sent back to come back only ever so slightly more done. The other dishes did not outlive our expectations. There was a superb live musician that made the whole night a great experience, plus the location is very pleasant.

Regrettably, she failed to acknowledge our presence, continuing her conversation for an extended period. After waiting for approximately ten minutes, I felt compelled to interrupt and express our desire to pay. Only then did she conclude her call and ask if we wished to file a complaint, offering us a complaints book. I want to emphasize that our intention was never to file a complaint or escalate the situation further. All we wanted was to settle the bill and leave. The lack of acknowledgment and the extended delay left us feeling somewhat disheartened after an otherwise outstanding dining experience at Maria Batata Restaurante. In light of this, I sincerely hope that the management of Maria Batata Restaurante takes this feedback constructively and addresses the issue promptly. The professionalism and exceptional service exhibited by the majority of the staff deserve recognition and preservation. We genuinely enjoyed our time at Maria Batata Restaurante and would gladly return in the future, provided this unfortunate incident does not repeat itself. The service was terrible. We were told to order the complete meal beforehand because there was another table with more people and they won’t be able to process all the orders at the same time. We were the only two people seated at the time. Also, the server could not, or want not, explain the dishes. When ordering a margarita we asked if it was on the rocks or frozen and were told that they just make it the correct way????

The dining experience should include a solo walk around the hotel, the shop, the garden, the swimming pool etc to understand the such special place you are at. The quality of the ingredients was outstanding and the crew working there are so nice, professional and willing to help at all times. We will definitely return back in the future when in Obidos. Do not hesitate! This is your place to be!
