Even though the theme park surrounding it was only a quarter full with young families on a Thursday afternoon in late October, there was a man inside a small shack who was able to make me a hearty and large falafel wrap. As a vegetarian, it was a satisfying and filling option that beat trying to convince the shawarma vendors to make a meatless one. It had lots of hummus inside, and maybe even a tangy potato sauce. There was no line for me, and only a five-minute wait, so it was no big deal.
The new restaurant location is conveniently located and easy to find. The wraps and burgers are deliciously fresh and satisfying, with the wraps being particularly large. The only downside is the long wait of over 40 minutes for our food to be ready.
In the early stages of veganism's growth in Russia, it is understandable why there is only a small vegan restaurant. It can be frustrating to have to search for a vegan meal in each Russian city. I became even more frustrated when I finally found the restaurant (not exactly where the map showed, but slightly east inside the park), and had to wait in line for about half an hour in the sun, with only one other customer ahead of me, before giving up. On my third attempt, I saw a banner that said "back in 10 minutes" and decided to leave. The fourth time, I tried one last time and again saw the same banner, but ended up waiting for more than 10 minutes before they finally took my order. They do not speak much English, so they may not be able to assist much with menu choices. However, the burger I ordered was large, delicious, and felt nutritious.
