Been here for 6 weeks through work, accommodation and hospitality has been exceptional, epically from Kayla and Oiain.
Huge portions even the desserts. Delish meal and great service
Went to the North Star restaurant for a team lunch and had one of the best lunches I think I’ve ever had. The food was full of flavour, warm and delicious, just what I needed to fill my grumbling stomach on a cold day. The service was immaculate, friendly staff who greeted us with smiles and some lovely chat. I would be back here in a heartbeat and I highly recommend to anyone in Oamaru, or anyone who is near because I would drive 45 minutes to get a meal like this again. Thanks to North Star!!!
In a large group (28) and apparently we should have pre ordered (no one knew) and there were 7 more people than planned so that's on us. Cannot reason why a main dish of pork belly would have 4 slices of extremely dry (visibly so) meat, a small portion of apple sauce and that's it. Not even veges avail to order. Having taken the orders, the first mains arrived 90mins later (2 entree orders before that) and the last ones about another 45mins later when it was found orders were missing. A handful in the group enjoyed their meal but were exceptions.
Popped in to view the menu and make a possible dinner booking. But went and got a drink and played the pokies. Husband won a jackpot and we left shortly after. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $10–20 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
