This review is for Reem's stand at the Ferry Building Saturday farmers market. I ordered shakshuka, which features poached eggs in a spicy tomato sauce garnished with olive oil and parsley, served with pita bread. I'm glad I tried it, but I probably wouldn't order it again. The eggs and tomato sauce were delicious, and the pita was great too. However, once I finished the eggs, I was left with a bowl of sauce with nothing to accompany it. I think I might prefer the flatbreads instead. I also enjoyed a lemonade, and the cashier kindly refilled it for me when my meal arrived. Great service!
But I digress... Reem’s is my absolute favorite! All my friends know I’m always up for a visit. Reem’s forever!!! From the Pali Cali wrap to the manoushe, as well as the kanefe and halawa latte, I’ve tried everything on the menu at least once, which makes the seasonal offerings all the more exciting. Everything is consistently fresh, unique, and delicious. And here’s a pro tip: you can get their AMAZING pita bread to-go for just $5 for three! I always grab some for home along with a tub of labneh. It’s a must!
This restaurant is exceptional and outstanding. I've visited many Arabic and Middle Eastern eateries, but Reem's Place stands out as truly authentic. Everything you eat is freshly made, straight out of the oven. I drove over 90 minutes to try it, and it was definitely worth the journey.
Related to Dyafa restaurant, their more casual cafe. Cute space near Fruitvale BART with amazing coffee, drinks, and food. Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. We got tahini brussel sprouts, fatoush salad, and a spread of dips with pita and all were perfect.
