The menu offered a range of pan-Southeast Asian dishes, but it felt fairly Americanized, lacking in adventurous or exotic options. You can find classics like Pad Thai, noodles, rice, and curries. Our service and food came out promptly, although neither was particularly exciting. The $6 sangria was a pleasant surprise—good flavor, boozy, and not overly sweet. The atmosphere is reasonably kid-friendly, with attentive servers, though it's not a fancy place. There isn’t a dedicated kids' menu or crayons, but it’s suitable for families. The noise level was moderate; it’s not an intimate setting, so it wouldn’t be ideal for impressing a date. Overall, the value was average, especially for the Bay Area. I would consider returning, but I’m not overly eager to do so.
Lao Tae is a hidden gem in Montclair. The menu offers all the dishes I crave for my Lao and Thai fix. The atmosphere is lively, and the owners are fantastic; they ensure that you have a great time. This will definitely be my go-to spot from now on!
Lao Tae, brought to you by some of the owners of Camber, features a variety of the same delectable dishes, such as cien fritters and lemongrass sausage, all within a laid-back dining environment.

WOW everything we ordered....wow vodka orange came with rind, so good crab fried rice, delicious we will be back
