The young woman at the counter, a slim b... read more This was my third visit to Kinfolx, and unfortunately, the service this time—just like the last—was very disappointing. The young woman at the counter, a slim brown-skinned lady wearing thin-framed glasses and a bandana, seemed unwelcoming and gave off a negative vibe, as if she didn’t want me there. She reminded me three times that they were closing at 6 pm, despite me arriving at 4:55 pm. The first reminder was fine, but repeating it twice more with attitude felt unnecessary. On top of that, it took nearly 25 minutes to get my matcha tea, even though the shop was not busy and people who arrived after me were served within about 5 minutes. I won’t be returning to Kinfolx. While I want to support local Black-owned businesses, the repeated poor service—especially during my latest visit (2/14/25)—left much to be desired. I really hate having to say this. The cozy atmosphere made me feel right at home. What truly stood out was seeing the diverse community at Kinfolx—people solving puzzles, discussing books, and working on laptops. This lovely third space is one I’ll be visiting often! Service: 5 Food: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20
