The ambiance provides a tranquil setting for enjoying a wide menu of flavorful dishes, making it a standout in the crowded market of Pho restaurants. While some review feedback suggests inconsistencies in food quality and presentation, the overall consensus is positive, with patrons praising the friendly staff and extensive menu options. Whether craving meat or vegan options, Holy Basil Pho caters to all tastes while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere that encourages patrons to linger and indulge. A must-visit spot for Pho lovers in the bay area.
Second time here. Soup was a bit watered down this time. Pork Rib was also very chewy and a bit tough. Somewhat disappointed at the service, unlike last time, maybe difference between weekend and weekday. But the restaurant was not busy so no excuse.
Food and presentation was outstanding at my first visit. It was memorable enough that we kept wanting to go back. Few months later, at our 2nd and 3rd visit, it has changed. The presentation of the appetizers became generic, sloppy. The food lacked care. There are so many Pho places. This place still stands out for its ambiance, its balanced selection of menu. It’s prompt and friendly service. I just hope they can maintain the quality of food overall.
This is definitely a above average Vietnamese restaurant although menu is still somewhat limited. But very clean, unlike most other Vietnamese restaurants. Food is good quality and they give enough ingredients in the pho, again, unlike others who skim to save a few pennies. For dinner time, Sun is in the eye. They should put up a thicker screen.
My friends and I love Holy Basil Pho. Every time that we've been the place has been increasingly crowded, but nonetheless I wouldn't be surprised if a reservation is unnecessary. The food is delicious, our favorites include the basil lime wings and the garlic noodles with five spice pork. The portions are huge and you can easily split the dishes between 2 or 3 people. The servers/hosts are always courteous, although if it is a busy night you might have to flag down your waiter to get the bill. Regardless, due to the service, ambiance, food quality and portion sizes we have always ended up staying longer than we intended. With a doubt, Holy Basil Pho is our new favorite restaurant in the bay area, and it's a shame that on some nights it's practically empty.
The service was wonderful and very helpful. The ambience is relaxing as tables aren't too close together and the restaurant is pretty quiet making conversation easy. The food is fabulous and the menu is quite extensive. Try it!
