It's a very reasonably priced prix fixe Japanese restaurant where the food is meticulously and artistically prepared. Clearly it's the owner's passion, artistry, and abilities that combine to make this place so wonderful. And guess what, he's actually Japanese! Also, he is very welcoming, gracious, and kind. The restaurant is small and intimate, and the wait staff is very friendly. And this restaurant is simply the best Japanese restaurant in Oakland, and perhaps the East Bay! Check it out! For covid safety reasons, they've put up plexiglass dividers which I honestly really enjoyed because it felt like we were in our own little world. Sushi Chef was amazing, great fish selections and presentation, and this was my first time having a female sushi chef, it was exciting to see!
