This family restaurant offers the best dinner vibes, with excellent service and delicious Cambodian food. While some diners found the food to be lacking in flavor, others praised the tasty dishes such as the coconut soup and smoked eggplant. The cozy ambiance and friendly service make for a welcoming dining experience. With a variety of options on the menu, from salads to curries, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Make sure to save room for dessert, as the mango sticky rice and fried banana with coconut ice cream are highly recommended. I 've been a Battambang fan for many years, now; we can 't go more than a couple of weeks without wanting a fix. Their food is fantastic: the salmon, either grilled with veggies or in a red sauce with broccoli is superb, as is their vegetarian friend rice and their crab fried rice (and the broth they serve at lunch, and myriad other dishes). Also, the servers are all super nice and helpful. An amazing occurrence tells you about the kind of people at Battambang: once I left my wallet there, and they sent folks to DRIVE TO MY HOUSE (quite a long way) to return it so I wouldn 't have even a moment 's panic. Pretty incredible ... as is in case I haven 't mentioned it the food. An Oakland culinary treasure!
This place was a pleasant surprise! I wanted to have some Cambodian food and was recommended this place by a few people. I definitely wasn't disappointed. The food was all fresh and flavourful, and their smoked eggplant dish is hands down my favourite. The service is friendly and fast. The restaurant is a pretty cozy spot and is fairly small on the inside. Overall, I'd highly recommend checking this place out! Service: Dine in Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5
We’re from Chicago, coming to visit SF. It’s rare to find authentic Cambodian restaurant or Cambodian restaurant in the US. This restaurant serve Cambodian cuisines that taste just as delicious as homemade Cambodian food. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Based on a friend’s recommendation, I treated myself to a meal at Battambang on a weekday afternoon. I was welcomed by the wonderful owner, who clearly puts so much love and care into her restaurant and her food! I highly recommend the soup—I had the tamarind soup with catfish and prawns, and my friend swears by the lemongrass soup with catfish. You can’t beat this fresh, delicious, home style Cambodian cooking and welcoming atmosphere! Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
While the location may not be ideal and your server will kindly advise you against leaving valuables in your car, and although the decor feels a bit outdated with insufficient lighting, the food is truly exceptional, and the service is remarkable. Be sure to try the Battambang noodles and the mango sticky rice; you will not be disappointed.
