The dining experience was disappointing overall, though the menu offered some tasty dishes. Service needs significant improvement. While the outside of the restaurant is unassuming, stepping inside reveals neon signs and a dimly lit setting designed to capture the vibe of Korean nightlife. This place is ideal whether you’re after dinner or a late-night snack, open daily from 6pm to 1:30am. Our group of six arrived soon after opening and was seated immediately. After browsing the menu, we chose the seafood pancake, corn cheese, bulgogi with cheese fries, half a serving of boneless wings with rice cake in soy garlic sauce, two small portions of Korean fried chicken (one soy garlic, one spicy), fish cake and udon soup, and finished with garlic bossam. One of the best parts of eating with friends is being able to order more dishes than you could alone, giving you a chance to sample more of the menu! Our food arrived fairly quickly, starting with the seafood pancake and corn cheese. Interestingly, the bulgogi and cheese fries came notably later, but were still delicious. Rather than describe each dish in detail, I’ll simply say the food here is fantastic and authentic. The Korean fried chicken was a highlight—perfectly fried with a crispy crust and juicy interior. The garlic bossam was also a favorite, combining flavorful pork with lettuce wraps and an assortment of banchan sides. As someone sensitive to spice, I will mention the fish cake and udon soup contains jalapeños, adding some heat to the dish. It was somewhat manageable for me but not my top pick, and it’s worth noting that this isn’t indicated as spicy on the menu. If you’re craving Korean food late at night in Oakland, Azit is definitely the place to go! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
